A typical 10-day trip might look like this:
Day 1:
Welcome aboard in Guadeloupe, at the Jacques Cousteau Reserve. Take your first swim in the crystal-clear waters and enjoy a drink at sunset.
Day 2:
After a good night’s sleep, we sail to Les Saintes, an idyllic archipelago with picturesque houses, vibrant marine life, and wild, unspoiled beaches.
Day 3:
We continue to Dominica. After arriving, we anchor in a bay surrounded by mountains. Friendly locals paddle by in their canoes, selling us fresh bananas.
Day 4:
Hike along Section 13 of the Dominica National Trail. This moderately challenging hike offers spectacular views. You'll explore the tropical rainforest and keep an eye out for parrots.
Day 5:
Hike to Boiling Lake. This demanding trek takes us to a volcanic lake that appears to be boiling. In the evening, we celebrate our achievement on the beach with a rum punch in hand.
Day 6:
Today we explore the Indian River. Since motorboats are not allowed here, a local guide rows us through the mangroves, pointing out the hiding places of some of the island's most remarkable birds. Along the way, we pass Calypso's Hut from Pirates of the Caribbean. In the afternoon, there's an option to hike in Cabrits National Park, where you'll enjoy stunning views, discover fascinating history, and explore the well-preserved remains of a former military fort.
Day 7:
A truly special day. Together with a local guide, we visit the Kalinago Territory. The Kalinago people, descendants of the Caribs, live in a remote mountain region. It's a genuinely unique cultural experience.
Day 8:
We bid farewell to Dominica and sail on to Martinique. We anchor off the town of Saint-Pierre, the island's former capital, which was completely buried in ash during the volcanic eruption of 1902. A small museum tells the dramatic story of this historic event.
Day 9:
We continue sailing to Fort-de-France, the present-day capital of Martinique. We anchor beside the city park with views of the historic fort from which the city takes its name.
Day 10:
Farewell and the end of an unforgettable journey.
